I sincerely think I have picked up things more often than I have shot at things. Now I have another 30-40 minutes of replaying the E button chore again to pick up all these damn documents and other shit from the last crash. You'd see the save icon if I recall and get the pause for it, but upon reloading you'd go back to the pre-defined checkpoint. Does it do anything for you? Because on my end it simply did nothing.

Latest drivers as of last night.Īs for quick saves, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to actually get it to save.

I was running 1440P, which was a chore to get working. Too many shovelware titles coming out these days, between indie pixel graphic crap and Wolfenstien.Īnd no it isn't the publishers, that excuse has been played out. If that means we only get 2-3 AAA games a year so be it, I'd be happy. Start knocking these guys out one by one and maybe the last few studios would wise up and make something that isn't a massive turd. Imagine if Machine Games was hit hard financially, they'd have to shut down the studio. Game developers to customers - fuck you, keep buying our trash!Īt this point I wish people would stop pirating games and go to outright stealing them. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to require us to manually pickup 20-30 items each time we enter a room is a jackass. Really it is 2017, you can make ammo and health auto pickup when you walk buy it. My finger is about to fall off from replaying the same garbage and picking up the same crap over and over again.

You'll be pressing "E" more than the trigger because you need to constantly pick shit up. So enjoy replaying the same shit over and over thanks to the 10-15 minute freezes. Save system is complete and utter shit (its called quick save you fucking cunts at Machine Games, use it!), with the most awkward checkpoint system ever. Editing graphics settings requires a lot of work (minimize to window, edit the exe, all this other shit) and even then enjoy the constant freezing. It was too good to be true, this game is a damn turd. I get that it would have to be redesigned if they hadn't planned using it for the next game when they were designing it for New Order, and it doesn't work with what they had in mind. The submarine control room layout is markedly different between New Order and Colossus. I feel however that it's not as enjoyable as the previous games.Īlso, and this comes to mind because I'm spending so much time in the stupid submarine:ġ. I get what the devs were doing with the storytelling, and I commend them for taking a chance (and it seems to really resonate with reviewers). The BJ childhood scenes are really freaking heavy. Colossus features depressed people in a hopeless situation, and BJ spends all of his inner monologue complaining about how he's dying, and talking to a dead person. Old Blood had BJ making funny quips from time to time "Hey look at that, it's raining Nazis". The story I feel has taken a step backwards, I really liked the New Order story and the characters because everything seemed super optimistic, the characters had hope. I'm getting kind of sick of spending so much time in the submarine however. New Order had excellent storytelling and great gameplay, Old Blood had excellent gameplay and great story. I really enjoyed the New Order, and to a lesser degree Old Blood. I had to close the game and open it back up to make that go away.

Later in the evening my Windows mouse cursor somehow became activated in the game (I hadn't switched back to the desktop, not using overlays, it just appeared and decided to hang around), and it would move across my screen as I was moving the mouse to navigate in game. The game itself uses ~3 GB of system RAM (overall system RAM in use during play is ~9 GB from a fresh reboot).Ī few glitches - yesterday during playing my girlfriend wanted to chat so I pulled up the Journal page, and after turning back to the computer a couple of minutes later the game had hung, I had to bring up Task Manager to kill the process. The game uses all 8 GB of my video RAM, 60-80% GPU utilization. Going by Task Manager, my overall CPU utilization doesn't exceed 20%.

Super optimized code too I'm running with all visual settings to the max - Uber and Ultra as appropriate, and the FPS stays locked at 120 FPS. Shadows are awesome (lots of subtle shadow effects), lights are awesome (check out Max's room with the colored lights, Pig's disco ball), and effects on different materials are awesome (in the beginning, when we first meet Sigrun, check out how the lighting reacts differently on her leather jacket vs her skirt). Visuals are simply phenomenal, I sometimes just gaze around to see how the lighting reacts with the environment.
